I've also disabled displaying the game on the monitor just to get an extra 1 or 2 fps lol. While that might not seem huge, it's kind of a big deal when your computer can barely play it. So I might try this out myself even if it will be just a slight performance boost.
For people who the game runs as smooth as salted butter on a summer afternoon, feel free to share you specs, your setup, and some infos you may find interesting. To begin, here are my specs : I'm playing the game on the Oculus Quest via a non-official Link cable (the JOTO one) Nvidia RTX 2060 6Go Intel i5-4460 3.20Gz 16Go RAM DDR3
Half Life Alyx on Quest 2 - FAQ & Findings. I'm basing all these findings, so far, using the copy found on Rclone FFA. Obviously different releases of Alyx give different results. As always performance varies based on PC specs and Wifi strength, this post is about sharing anything we can about putting yourself in the best possible scenario Half Life Alyx on Quest 3. Half Life Alyx on the Quest 3 is beautiful. The graphics are fantastic! And damn I forgot how much I hated Jeff. There's really nothing compared to Alyx. And with Q3, it just look unbelievable. Wish there was more games of this quality for VR.
It's true that the quest 2 tracking rings can get in the way when reloading, though - but rumors have it that the Quest Pro controllers (which do not have the tracking ring, but can track independently of the HMD) will be made available for the Quest 2 as well - so maybe you can upgrade at a later time.
If you are using Airlink then you would adjust the refresh rate in the Oculus Windows app when you have the headset turned on and connected. If using Virtual Desktop then this would be set in the settings there inside the headset. 2. I would try 90hz to start, HL:A is very well optimized and should run well on a 3060 Ti.
it's not a bad headset, I sold mine literally 3 days before the quest 2 was announced for almost what I paid for it simply because of the tether though. it's the most popular headset on steam for a reason. mind you, you could always sell it and get a quest 2
