Since Dragon Age is made by Bioware, owned by EA Games, Origin gets exclusive rights for Dragon Age. You can get all three Dragon Age games on Origin. Great. So DA Origin (wich i own) contains ALL the DLC content. Like Asteroid mission in Mass Effect 1, or Javik the protean, or armor skins.
I purchased the Ultimate edition on Steam and used the CD keys to activate the product on Origin. The activation worked and all the DLC came up on Origin as installed, yet when I launched the game, nothing appeared in ANY of the DLC tab, they were empty, and the 'other campaign' option in the menu was greyed out, and I was unable to select it.
1.Make sure DAO is shut down. 2. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam2\SteamApps\common\Dragon Age Ultimate Edition\redist (or wherever your game was installed) 3. Run DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML_Steam.exe. 4. Run DAUServiceSetup_Steam.exe. This should fix the steam ultimate version where DLCs are non-activate, missing ultimate features and/or awakening

First under Windows Vista, then Win7, Win8, and now Win10. Done it from the retail discs, and through Origin. Done it for the original base game+DLC, and for the Ultimate Edition (which changes some DLC installation folder paths.) Done it on multiple machines.
